TECHNOBOHEMIAN!!

from Paper mag:

Between Spurr and Calvin Klein's showings, I had the unexpected opportunity to get a glimpse of John Malkovich's brand new men's line, Technobohemian. The presentation, held in Soho House's private White Room, was a nice departure from the hectic scene at Bryant Park. After an hour long tête-à-tête with the multi-talented actor I learned that he's had a life-long obsession with uncovering distinct and rare fabrics. Malkovich has been an avid collector of premium hard-to-get textiles for over 20 years; his fabric compulsion comes in at a close second behind his love of film and stage. The collection, a bold and directional line-up of ultra-luxe overcoats, jackets, ties and shoes were all described to the smallest details by the laborious designer. From linings to buttons, every single thread was discovered in an array of private houses from Florence to the UK. Among the offerings, a blue houndstooth car coat, an array of vibrant silk button downs, a Canepa wool overcoat with kilt inspired hemline pleats, a smooth fake pony tailored jacket, a classic slightly unstructured suit and a lengthy navy ribbed sweater with mixed wool blocked detailing. With this debut, Mr. Malkovich proved to be unafraid to explore new territories, and although it may not directly appeal to some aesthetic sensibilities, it is a refreshing and spirited shift from the ocean of muted moody trends we've seen this season.

Ed. note: How in hellfire have I not heard of this? How has the press not been clamoring to see this line? Moreover how have we been starved of hearing Malki describe his own line?? Can you imagine? Malkovich and his FABRIC COMPULSION???!!! Seriously - this is the hot ticket for Fashion Week. Alexander Wang, please. MALKOVICCCHHHHH I HEART U.
